Bug Description

Binary package hint: ettercap-gtk

When launching from Applications>Other>Ettercap if you try to use sniff options, it asks for 'Network Interface:'. When you type a interface it will show a warning message saying: 'Invalid Interface: eth0'.
If ettercap-gtk is launched from terminal with 'sudo ettercap -G', it does not have the same problem above.

This program needs to be launched under super-user privilages (or something). So you can make some changes in your system to always launch it as a root.

The package should be modified so that when you launch from Applications>Internet>Ettercap, it asks you for password (using gksu).
