Bug Description
Binary package hint: etckeeper
1. Availability: Available for all architectures
2. Rationale: Apart of the server-
3. Security: No CVE history.
4. QA:
- Simple package no debconf questions asked.
- Simple to setup
- Well maintained in Debian
- Does not deal with exotic hardware
- Ubuntu bug:
#376388 - ~/.bazaar created owned by root (when run under sudo)
- Debian bug:
#519455 - etckeeper: does not catch dpkg exit status
6. Dependencies: All are in main except darcs and mercurial
7. Standards Compliance: FHS and Debian compliant
8. Maintenance: The package is relatively easy to take care of, which will be the responsiblity of the Ubuntu Server Team.

Note that this package was already improved in previous releases (in collaboration with upstream) to make it a better suited target for Ubuntu main: better bzr support, use bzr by default, set up repository at install time, etc.
