Bug Description

The "espeakedit" application is used to compile data for the "espeak" text to speech synthesizer. "espeakedit" must be the same version number as "espeak".

In packages.ubuntu.com/trusty, "espeak" is version 1.47.11 but "espeakedit" is version 1.46.02.

espeak and espeak-data and espeakedit need to be the same version, I did see some Debian bug reports for this as well...
