Bug Description

I have Emacs running before I established my internet connection. After connecting, I was trying to chat at FreeNode via ERC, when the M-x erc-select (after receiving the interactive arguments) failed because of "Temporary failure in name resolution". Setting debug-on-error to t I found that the function terminates at the call to open-network-stream, and it seems that this function (which I think is part of Emacs) is not informed of the new /etc/resolv.conf settings set after establishing the network.

My workaround for this was to simply restart Emacs.

It seems that this bug is now fixed in Breezy. I no longer need to restart Emacs for ERC to work.
