Epson stylus sx235w WIFI does not work out-of-the-box

on Ubuntu 11.10, Epson stylus sx235w's printing function works, but WIFI does not work out-of-the-box.

Confirmed by several Ubuntu and Mint users:

Remark : one Italian user seems to have made it work via an Avasys DEB (http://www.linuxmind-italia.org/index.php?topic=11183.msg130883#msg130883 ) , but I can't reproduce his workaround.

i can give as much additional information (logs/command outputs..) you need, but.... what information do you need ?

I don't know what i can say more, except that i see no change in Ubuntu even when i press (short or long press) the "Wifi" button which is on the printer.
