Bug Description

Package: epix1
Version: 1.2.4-2
Operating system: ubuntu-8.10(intrepid)

When I try to edit the file .xpdfrc with emacs, I get dumped into
ePix mode and it immediately enters an invalid c-style comment line
at the beginning of the style. It appears that the file
         /etc/emacs/site-start.d/50epix1.el
is missing a "<backslash><backslash><single quote> after the
".xp" in the "setq auto-mode-alist ...) line for the epix-mode.
The same problem is also true for the flix-mode a few lines later.

When I edited the 50epix.el to correct this, it appears that emacs starts up correctly, e.g.
"emacs .xpdfrc" now opens in Fundamental-mode
"emacs tmp.xp" still opens in epix-mode

I tried to report this to debian, but I am unsure whether the report went through.
