Bug Description

Binary package hint: epiphany-browser

Apparently, some webkit-related dependencies make APT force-remove the current Epiphany browser in favor of upgrading other webkit-based software:

$ LC_ALL=C sudo aptitude full-upgrade
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  libwebkitgtk-1.0-0{a} libwebkitgtk-1.0-common{ab}
The following packages will be upgraded:
  libseed0 python-webkit rhythmbox rhythmbox-plugin-cdrecorder rhythmbox-plugins yelp
The following packages are RECOMMENDED but will NOT be installed:
  python-mako
6 packages upgraded, 2 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 8246 kB of archives. After unpacking 19.6 MB will be used.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  libwebkitgtk-1.0-common: Conflicts: libwebkit-1.0-common but 1.2.5-0ubuntu3 is installed.
open: 36; closed: 73; defer: 3; conflict: 3 .The following actions will resolve these dependencies:

     Remove the following packages:
1) epiphany-browser
2) gnome-core
3) libwebkit-1.0-2
4) libwebkit-1.0-common

     Leave the following dependencies unresolved:
5) libproxy0 recommends libwebkit-1.0-2 | libmozjs2d
6) epiphany-browser-data recommends epiphany-browser

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the stable release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed. You can find out more about it at http://www.ubuntu.com/download . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.
