Loading RSS feed offers firefox-specific functionality

Bug #69286 reported by James "Doc" Livingston on 2006-10-30
Affects Status Importance Assigned to Milestone
Epiphany Browser
epiphany-browser (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

When Epiphany gets given the URL of an RSS (e.g. http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/thissportinglife/podcast/tsl.xml) it loads it using the Firefox 2.0 RSS handler, which displays a page with options for things like "Live Bookmarks" which Epiphany doesn't do.

The best thing to do would be to display the dialog from the "New Feed Subscription" extension (an official one). I'm not sure what should happen if that is turned off, but offering firefox-specific bits isn't good.
