Local sites (bookmarks shared by DNSSD) keep getting added to regular bookmarks folder

Bug Description

I have a couple of websites that are published to the LAN by DNS-SD and Epiphany displays them in a Local folder in the Bookmarks menu.

Unfortunately, these Local bookmarks keep getting added to the regular bookmarks folder so now I have multiple copies of each DNS-SD published site in the bookmarks folder.

I think that this happens because everytime I shutdown Epiphany the application saves all bookmarks to the bookmarks.rdf file (or ephy-bookmarks.xml) independently of the source.

Maybe the Local bookmarks folder should be skipped while saving the bookmarks.

Upstream are aware of this.

Thanks for your bug triage work Dean.

The "remote bug" feature is made to automatically update bugs when they change (the feature is not implemented yet). Upstream tasks should point to upstream bug so, but distribution bugs should not since we want to close them when the fix is uploaded and not when upstream mark it as fixed for them

Ok, I wasn't sure whether or not that was the case (the documentation for malone is lacking), thanks for letting me know.

Now how do you remove these bookmarks? I still have 50+ and Epiphany bookmark manager will not let me delete them.

Hmm that's tricky :)

First, close all epiphany windows and make sure there's no epiphany process still running (ps aux | grep epiphany).
Back up ~/.gnome2/epiphany/ephy-bookmarks.xml, then open it in a text editor. Search for <property id="15" value_type="gboolean">true</property> and delete those lines.
After starting epiphany again, you should be able to delete those bookmarks.
