Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" [WWW] http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

With your informations i cannot reproduce the bug.
Wich ubuntu version are you using? Which version of epiphany are you using?

i can confirm this in hardys epiphany.

to reproduce.
1) in epiphany put about:config into the location bar.

if you double click any sting element, a dialog pops up to allow you to change it. if you double click a bool value it swaps from true to false (or false to true). if you double click an integer value an empty dialog pops up. its ok and cancel buttons do not work.

this make it hard to work aound Bug #149873

I can also confirm in Hardy with Epiphany 2.22.2.

Symptoms and steps of reproduction are the same as described above.

the issue seems to be an upstream one, could you open it on bugzilla.gnome.org too?

i assume that like Bug #149873 it is due to the interaction with gecko, and upstream only care about the webkit version.

are there any plans on fixing this bug, considering the epiphany webkit has faced so many issues, and in Gnome 2.26 Epiphany Gecko has had worked done it to include a Firefox awesome bar.

Confirming bug, now is unable to see about:config

Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Release: 10.04
Codename: lucid

$ epiphany --version
Navegador web de GNOME 2.30.2 (Webkit)

about:config does not display anything at all.

I know two workarounds, one is to manually edit ~/.gnome2/epiphany/mozilla/epiphany/prefs.js
The other is to manually change 'some' settings with gconf-editor at apps/epiphany/...

epiphany no longer uses mozilla, only webkit. so this bug is irrelevant for lucid, and will probably never be fixed for old version by the epiphany devs. i guess we can't close this bug until ubuntu versions with mozzila based epiphany go out of support.

Epiphany-gecko will soon be replaced on Hardy and Jaunty with the Webkit version from Karmic. Therefore, I'm closing this bug as won't fix. Please report any other issues you may find.
