Hello Flávio!

To get a package into Ubuntu, please file a bug in Launchpad and make sure it has the tag needs-packaging. Please mention where to get the source for it and which license it is under. An example request is here. Make sure you check which packages have already been requested. For packages in Debian, but not in Ubuntu file a bug with the summary field "please sync package <packagename> from debian <distro>" where packagename is the package you would like to see.

You can read more here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment/NewPackages

Have a good day!

Dear Flávio,

I am member of the Debian Med packaging team; Ubuntu’s epigrass package was imported from Debian. Sorry for having neglected Epigrass so long: Debian was frozen between August 2008 and February 2009.

I had a look at the SourceForge page: I could not find the 2.0b2 tarball and the 2.0b1 has much less files than the 1.5 version. Can you indicate us which sources to use to update the epigrass packages?

Have a nice day,

Hi Charles,

Current sources are currently not being kept on sourceforge. Latest tarballs
are being made available through PyPI:
http://pypi.python.org/pypi?%3Aaction=pkg_edit&name=epigrass

I intend to move the latest source back to sourceforge soon, now that they
support Mercurial.

Thanks for the help in packaging Epigrass dor Debian, that has been very
important for its adoption.

Please don't hesitate to contact me again if any issues arise in the
packaging.

Thanks a lot for the fast answer,

We are preparing an updated package with version 2.0b3. As in previous versions, we have to remove the PDF documentation as the absence of its sources make it a non-free document according to our guidelines. It would be much appreciated if your next release could contain the LaTeX sources!

Have a nice day,

This bug was fixed in the package epigrass - 2.0b3~dfsg-1

---------------
epigrass (2.0b3~dfsg-1) unstable; urgency=low

  [ Charles Plessy ]
  * New upstream release (LP: #271789).
  * debian/control:
    - Switch to debhelper 7 (also in debian/compat).
    - Dropped versionned dependency on CDBS (satisfied even in oldstable)
    - Incremented Standards-Version to 3.8.1 to reflect concordance with
      latest Policy (added README.source).
    - Added myself to the Uploaders.
    - Suggests: grass.
    - Depends: python-qt4-gl (instead of python-qt3) and python-qwt5-qt4.
  * debian/watch: updated to look in the Python Package Index.
  * debian/patches refreshed and documented:
    - desktop.diff: added MedicalSoftware category and kept Education because
      at least one Main Category must be supported.
    - setup.diff (deletion of sourceless documentation).
    - sqlite3.diff (purpose not understood yet).
  * debian/copyright updated and converted to machine-readable format
  * debian/reference copied from http://www.scfbm.org/content/3/1/3/citation
    and abstract (CC-BY-2.0) removed.

  [ Andreas Tille ]
  * Added myself to Uploaders
  * debian/watch: dversionmangle
  * debian/orig-tar.sh: Append '~dfsg' to upstream version

  [ Varun Hiremath ]
  * debian/control: Add versioned depends on python-qwt5-qt4 (>=
    5.1.0.dfsg-2), which fixes a bug related to Qwt import.
