1) ouroumov@Box:~/Desktop$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS
Release: 16.04
2) ouroumov@Box:~/Desktop$ apt-cache policy eom
eom:
Installed: 1.12.2-2
Candidate: 1.12.2-2
Version table:
*** 1.12.2-2 500
500 http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
3) eom memory usage should stay not increase over time
4) eom memory usage does increase over time
---------
I'm not sure if it's a bug or if it's intended behavior.
See the evolution of memory in the plot at the end of this thread: https://ubuntu-mate.community/t/possible-memory-leak-in-mate-panel/7717/15
If eom maintains a dedicated memory cache, IMHO it shouldn't at least on Linux because Linux file caching is good enough. If it does not maintain a memory cache then eom is leaking memory.
See attachment in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mate/+bug/1608599 for the log used to build the plot. |
