Bug Description

Binary package hint: eog

I am getting *a lot* of eog crashes on small png (and some ppm) images. Shotwell and the gimp have not given me problems so far.
Sometimes the same image does load.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please try to obtain a valgrind log following the instructions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valgrind and attach the file to the bug report. This will greatly help us in tracking down your problem. May you also attach that image to the report so we can also test with it ? Thanks in advance.

(Cross - Post from Bug #834376 )

I could not reproduce this issue correctly to obtain a valgrind report. When this issue happened, I opened the file with eog, i didn't open eog, then open the file within it. When I open the file within eog (during the attached valgrind session) i get this "<small>Error domain 1 code 4 on line 1 column 1 of file:///home/gothickitty93/Downloads/ed_title.svgz: Start tag expected, '<' not found
</small>"
