Bug Description

Binary package hint: eog

changing the extension of a jpg file to png makes eye of gnome refuse to open it. e.g. the well known warty-final-ubuntu.png files do not open because they are jpegs. renaming the file to somthing else (preferrably *.jpg) resolves the problem.

filetype detection should not depend on the name/extension.
