eog perpetually greys out option to show side pane

Binary package hint: eog

1) Install eye of gnome.
2) Open a JPEG
3) Click on View->Side Pane or hit Ctrl+F9 (go ahead I dare ya)
4) No worky

Very irritating as this was about the best way to view image exif info on Linux.

Thanks for your report, Which version of Ubuntu are you running? Does it happens with all the images you're trying to see? Can you attach an example to the report? thanks.

I'm running gutsy on x86. This is upgraded from Feisty. I'll attach an image from my Nikon that should have EXIF info but there is no option to show the side pane for me.

And yes, it never shows for any image any more. It did in Feisty though.

It has the same behavior for a new test user I created. Side pane doesn't work with any image.

upstream closing it as not being a bug, the sidebar is something to be used for plugins and exif informations have their own dialog now
