eog take time and ram to open picture when folder contain many files

Hello,
Try to open a picture in a folder containing 2 pictures, it's fast.
Try the same thing, but it different folder containing 500, 1000, 5000, 10000, 20000 pictures.

For the same picture, more the folder contain picture files, more the time used to open the file is long, because eog make a list, or something like that of all files in the folder.
For a small number of picture in the folder it's fast, but if you have many pictures in the folder, eog can take 1 or 2min to open, it's a problem. And my Ubuntu is installed on a SSD, so it's faster than a normal disk.

And, if eog use 9MB of RAM for you picture, if your folder contain 1000, or more picture, eog will use more than 50 - 100MB of RAM.

Can you fix this bug?
