eog next-previous skips certain image files

When viewing an image and trying to move to the next one, some file (extensions?) are skipped, maybe because eog thinks they are not images, even if they are and eog can even display them, e.g. Canon CR2 files.

If you have a folder with only cr2 files inside, you open one and eog displays is correctly, but next and previous buttons (and keyboard hotkeys) are disabled because eog thinks there is no other image.

This is with eog 3.8.2-1ubuntu1.1 on linux mint 16, I'll upgrade to 17 and try with eog3.10.2-0ubuntu5, but since I see no other bug report about this, I expect it to behave the same.
