Impossible to send a message with empathy

When I write a message there is a certain slowness, and when I want to send the message he does not display in the window.
Then at the end of um moment he puts me this message:

I use Ubuntu 11.10 and unity desktop, it's empathy 3.1.2.1-1ubuntu1 who is install.

There is a known speed issue due to the current gtk version so it might be due to it
