Cannot block empathy messages for yahoo users

Empathy 2.34.0 opening the 'edit blocked contacts' window results in all accounts being grey (including yahoo) and the inability to add users to the blocked list.

I can confirm this too - blocking contacts seems to be enabled only for Google Talk at the moment. See my screenshot.
