Bug Description

Binary package hint: empathy

On Ubuntu 10.10, typing on the main window (searching for contacts) resizes the main window. After that, you can resize it vertically but the horizontal size stays fixed.

What I expected to happen: when I type on the main window, no resizing should occur.

What happened: the main window resized, and I am unable to resize the width of the window.

I'm sorry, I don't think I was clear enough. When I say "main window", I was referring to the contact list.

When keyboard focus is directed at the contact list, invoking the search-as-you-type behavior, and no contact matches the search, the window resizes to accommodate the message "Nenhuma equivalência encontrada" ("No match found") that is displayed across the contact list. After that, you cannot make the window horizontally smaller that it is.

I don't think this is the same as the bug #433651, as it does not refer to the text entry field of the message window.
