Bug Description
Binary package hint: empathy
This is in Maverick installed from a daily build just before RC.
Mousing over a contact in empathy's contact list displays a solid black background for the contents, and a transparent black background for the border, as seen in the following screenshot:
This is a regression from Lucid, where the contents had the same transparency as the borders of the tooltip. This is different from bug #538293 which refers to how display pictures with transparency are rendered in the tooltip. This is different from bug #656000 (from which the above screenshot link was borrowed) which deals with two different issues, and does so from an aesthetic point of view, but this bit is clearly a regression run into by mistake.
