Unable to initate a conversation from a pop-up

Binary package hint: empathy

I don't have gnome-panel running, I do have Gnome-Do and Empathy starts by gnome-session.

When I recieve a chat from a friend, I have to first start empathy to get the contact list up (Bug #483684) and then locate my friend on the list and double-click on him to get the conversation window up. Now I can answer him (3 clicks and lots of mousing later)

Why oh why can't I click on the frakking pop-up that showed me he had IM:ed me? When I mouse over on that It just fades away.

this is not an empathy bug rather its a feature request for notify-osd. there is also another case scenario that you might want to take a look at. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/206547

I would really like this feature as well.

Interaction with the popup! Oh look! Someone i'med me! *Click* the notification and It takes me to the chat window.

I am marking this won't fix for what I have been seeing in ayatana discussions or read description about notify osd its only for notification alerts
