contacts not visible from msn in empathy

Binary package hint: empathy

I assumed that I was not connecting to msn properly at all but I received a request to be added as a contact through it proving that some connection is being made however none of my contacts are visible, they are present on the msn website including the one which I added through empathy.

It would be great if you test empathy 2.29.6 and tell as I think if this was a bug it might be already fixed

can you please the development release of empathy from the ppa https://launchpad.net/~telepathy/+archive/ppa and tell us if that solves your problem. so that we can send this upstream. Thanks in advance.

I just added the ppa, dist-upgrade, then installed empathy. Installed: 2.29.90-1+ppa9.10+1

I have no contacts showing from MSN at all. Status showing is Available. i have Offline Contacts ticked.

I think MSN are responsible most likely as I had no problem until recently.

I've deleted my account and set up empathy from scratch too.

This has apparently fixed itself with a reboot. Oh well.

I have the same problem. Empathy doesn't show MSN contacts (it works for facebook contacts). I see the debug messages on butterfly and shows the contact's e-mails.

I forgot to mention that I run Empathy 2.30.1 with Ubuntu 10.04

I use another MSN account and it shows the contact. My main MSN account has more than 900 contacts. Is it possible this bug to related to the number of the contacts?
