Bug Description

Binary package hint: empathy

When using multiple protocols, the problem that two different contacts may refer to the same person is unavoidable. Pidgin solves the problem by allowing you to merge contacts by dragging them one onto another. This functionality is very comfortable as you don't see messages from the same person in separate windows and is currently lacking in empathy.

This is more of a feature request than a bug.

True. It becomes a bug from the point of view of empathy going to replace pidgin. I have been used for years to have conversation from the same contact on different networks in the same window and it seems very strange for me that this can habit is changed. But feel free to advice me differently.

I agree. I'm tagging this transition-regression.
