Bug Description

If I start empathy hidden in background (either through the quicklist option or through the "empathy -h" command), when I open the empathy launcher (either from the dash or from the messagging menu), nothing happens.

Ubuntu version: 13.10
Empathy package version: 3.8.4-1ubuntu2

After upgrading from 12.04 to 14.04 I am running into this. I used to have "empathy -h" in my startup applications, but now that destroys my ability to use Empathy since if I start it with the -h flag it is not possible to bring up the contacts list.

Changed in empathy:
importance: Unknown → Medium
status: Unknown → New
