In the image (bug.png) — I used to be able to click where it says "Available" and choose another status (Busy, Away, Offline, Invisible) or a saved status, or enter a custom status message.

None of that works any more. When I click on "Available", nothing happens.

The version on the main server is the same:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/quantal/empathy → 3.6.0.3-0ubuntu1

The bug description above *also* states that I am using Ubuntu 12.10. You seem to be running raring:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/raring/empathy → 3.6.3-0ubuntu4

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #> and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

I've switched to using Pidgin instead—in part because of this bug. I don't know if it is still current. Please feel free to mark it Invalid.

Thanks for your answer, as far as I can tell this is solved in current versions of empathy.
