Translate from google translate:

Nie podano powodu - Not reason given
Należy zmienić stan, aby wyświetlić kontakty - You must change the status to view the contacts
Przejdź do trybu online - Go online

Button "Go online" not working.

Today. I was started Empathy in terminal. And when I pressed button "Gon Online" I see this;

lukasz@lukasz-Lenovo-G565:~$ empathy

(empathy:6635): tp-glib-CRITICAL **: tp_asv_get_uint32: assertion `asv != NULL' failed

(empathy:6635): tp-glib-CRITICAL **: tp_asv_get_boxed: assertion `asv != NULL' failed

It's interesting. I created a new system account, login to ubuntu, configure the uoa, start the empathy, it works.
If I login using my own system account created long ago, I configure the uoa and run empathy, empathy can't get my settings.

I have uploaded a attachment, comparison.tar.gz, where I have the empathy-debugger logs for both situations.
For other information of my system, pls refer to attachments at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/1073141

I am experiencing the same since 1 or 2 weeks ago. Before I was running 12.10 (upgraded from 12.04) and empathy worked. Probably connected to this bug is the bug that evolution always asks for passphrases of several accounts. How can I dump that stupid Ubuntu accounts and get the original application based accounts? Since the introduction of the ubuntu online accounts it is broken and gets fixed after a few months. Please don't bug users with such crap alpha version software.

Hello guys!

In home folder system saving a personal settings? Yes? And I can remove a configurations file from /home and Empathy can work again. Problem is in a /home configuration files. What file? I don't know. Propably in .local, and .config

I can confirm this is still happening.

I also created a test account to see which files on disk were created for setting up an account. It worked there, but removing the files on my home account (hoping that this would solve the problem) did not fix it. But it is possible I missed something.

Hello again. I don't know where is a bug. But in my case problem problem was hidden in a /home. Empathy or Ubuntu Online Accounts was wrong saved a settings in /home. In my case delete configuration was worked right, but we must check a UOA (ubuntu online accounts) for bug in here. If I remember correctly this operation (delete config) can reset a icons settings to default. I delete a empathy config from .local, .share, and completly delete .gconf (for fixed other problem) from /home. I delete a folder enthusiastically for fix a another system problem and Empathy can repaired by the way.

For me it started to work partly yesterday. Because I did a lot of stuff, I cannot say why. First I tried out the gnome3 PPA. To uninstall this I had to reinstall ubuntu-desktop. This seemed not to solve the problem. I also read about an time server problem which would cause that gnome-online-accounts could not resolve all related hosts. I updated the system time. Furthermore there have been some related updates. In the end, gnome-online-accounts (Ubuntu) were able to connect to all (gtalk, hotmail, facebook). But now my google calendar in thunderbird disappeared and Thunderbird is asking always for a password, which it did not before. Now I switched back to Evolution, there now the addresses are working.

Hi,

I confirm I have the same trouble : when on 12.04, empathy was working fine with all of my accounts, since migration to 12.10, none of my accounts are able to connect.

Here is a screenshot of my terminal to launch empathy :
http://ubuntuone.com/5yoUpb20Wck3ATkCdG4sQU

And the logs extracted from All Logs in empathy-debugger :
http://ubuntuone.com/5x65q6FQdpwf1cc1XJePCy

On empathy's windows, all connections indicate a "Failed to connect, No given reasons" ...

Michel GILLET

I ended up deleting the accounts in empathy (to untie them from the system-wide accounts) and in the system-wide control panel and then re-creating the accounts within empathy. That did the job.
