Bug Description

empathy 3.5.90-0ubuntu4, Ubuntu Q

1. Start a guest session.
2. Launch Empathy.

What you see: "You need to setup an account to see contacts here."
What you should see: "You need to set up an account to see contacts here."

That text is embarrassingly bad -- the font is enormous, and the text shouldn't even exist, instead taking you to a first-time assistant. But if nothing else, at least we could spell "set up" correctly.

Matthew, should we forward this to Gnome or do an FFE to get this fixed locally? I don't think it is too major of an error.

Er, I'm being silly. An FFE shouldn't be necessary for this - it's just a bug fix.

This should be fixed upstream so hopefully we can land the fix in raring.

Hi, I took a look at this issue. While the upstream bug was closed quite some time ago, a fixed version seems to have landed in Ubuntu only quite recently. The typo is fixed in empathy 3.12.9-1ubuntu1 on Ubuntu 15.04 (see attached screenshot), but it looks like all older releases are still affected. I am not sure what caused the delay, though there was a jump from empathy 3.8 to 3.12 so maybe that explains it. In any case, the bug seems fixed. :)
