Bug Description

Binary package hint: emacs22

Whenever I run Emacs my whole Gnome desktop freezes (well everything apart from the running instance of emacs). The only fix I have found for this is to use ctr + alt + f2 and kill the emacs process form the command line.

I am not sure whether this is an emacs problem or an nvidia graphics driver problem

Thanks

This sounds vaguely like bug #287577 -- could you take a look at the workarounds posted there and follow up here? Thanks.

OK, I'll mark it as a duplicate, since it probably is, but if anyone can show that this bug is reproducible with Assistive Technologies turned off, then feel free to unmark it.

I am experiencing a total desktop freeze with latest Emacs24. The headless (-nw) works but as soon as I want to run it on Xorg, the whole desktop freezes until I somehow close Emacs. Also the Emacs window does not show up.
