Bug Description
Binary package hint: emacs
Default font does not support Japanese, while Vim and gedit have a default font that does this.
This is regarding Emacs 22.2.
Fixing this will make emacs more easier to use for new internationally oriented users and more inline of what one can expect 'out of the box' of an UTF-8 supported desktop application.

This was fixed by installing emacs-intl-fonts Perhaps that package must also be installed when installing the emacs metapackage.
