Bug Description

I just upgraded from lubuntu 13.04 to 14.04. Before the update I was able to set a first mark using Ctrl-Space move the point to another position and then set another mark. Then the region between the last two marks was selectet and marked grey. This doesn't work anymore. However I can select a region by holdin the shift key and use the arrow keys but this is not what I want.

Any idea how to fix this? If not, is there a workaround?

It's simple to resolve.

In "Input Methods" change the Shortcut Keyboard to "Next input method".

Thanks, but I don't really understand how to do it. What should I exactly add to my .emacs file?

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

Changed in emacs-defaults (Ubuntu):

After uninstalling ibus it worked as usual. Don't understand the role of ibus for this issue.
