Bug Description

deja-dup has missing icons for add/remove in the menu where you can choose what should be included/excluded

this is happening on a lubuntu system so i guess deja-dup has a missing dependency which is only a problem when not using ubuntu-desktop

this is happening on 11.10 and 12.04. 11.04 was not tested

The missing dependency is gnome-icon-theme-symbolic

so deja-dup should be updates in 11.11 and 12.04 to have this dependency. Other releases are not tested by me

adding lubuntu-team in CC

Maybe this should be fixed in lubuntu-desktop instead of deja-dup?

just for the record

installing "gnome-icon-theme-symbolic" did not pull any other packages on a lubuntu-installation, so adding gnome-icon-theme-symbolic to lubuntu-meta will not end up in a big dependency-fight

IMO, it looks like elementary-icon-theme needs a depends or a recommends of gnome-icon-theme-symbolic, until it's implemented directly in the theme.

its also affecting some other programs which are needing the icons but dont have a dependency for that

True Michael, it does, and there will be even more in the future (as people start following the Gnome 3 design). Elementary Icons will include symbolic icons in their upcoming release[1], however, we're not sure if they will be ready for 12.04. Thus we will most likely have to include the gnome-icon-theme-symbolic package for 12.04.

Marking Deja Dup task as invalid, since it sounds like this is a generic problem.

Symbolic icons are introduced by upstream for 10 years. The updated elementary-icon-theme 6.1.0-1 includes symbolic icons, which would solve this bug. As a result, I consider it to be Fix-Released.

If you have any other bug with similar symptom, please feel free to open a new bug report.
