Bug Description

Binary package hint: electricsheep

After installing electricsheep ( 2.7~b12+svn20091224-1ubuntu1 ) on Lucid, power management settings to turn off monitor after x idle time were no longer heeded. Other users of electricsheep have reported similar problems:

Doing a complete uninstall of electricsheep seems to resolve this issue. But it would be better if the installation of electricsheep did not disable or override the system's power management settings.

I believe this is a feature of mplayer, which is used by electric sheep to display the content.

Does anyone know how to control this feature of mplayer?

I also would like to know how to disable the feature (enable powe saving again) while using electricsheep.

Right know is the only thing that pushes me away from using the screensaver.

This issue is confirmed however it won't be fixed until someone ports the client over to linux natively:

"Yes the Windows/Mac client could be ported to Linux. That would be great. Are there any volunteers?"

Changed in electricsheep (Ubuntu):
