Hi,

We need a debug output to understand the issue.

Start Ekiga using this command:
$ ekiga -d 4 2>output.txt
Wait until the registration succeed, call the echo test. Close Ekiga. Attach the file ouput.txt here.

Best regards,
Yannick

Przemek Wesolek,

The audio media stream was using 213.156.96.98, ports: 5062-5063 in UDP, something in the path is eating packets (firewall/router). Please configure your router/firewall to accept incoming UDP packets on the port range 5000-5100 in UDP.

Best regards,
Yannick

Yannis, your suggestion worked, thanks. I configured the router according to the examples in http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Ekiga_behind_a_NAT_router#Symmetric_NAT:_Dynamic_navigation_of_NAT_routers.

Maybe a little off-topic, but I can't find Ekiga options mentioned there, Edit -> Preferences -> Protocols -> Network Settings menu. Just no "Network Settings" there.

Ekiga echo test is not playing back the sound. No PC to PC connection with sound is possible, also not possible to make a sensufl PC to telephone connection because no sound is played.
System plays otherwise sound normally: system sounds, rhythmbox or any other application give sound.
Cam is displayed in the echo test, microphone is not tested because sound does not work. microphone and soundsystem are working under system check test for audio.
In the attached file is the system configuration: Shortly: I am using Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala, Ekiga version 3.2.5. System is regularly actualized. Out of some other helpforum I have tried the advice to kill the pulseaudio process, but this did not help as well.

Hi,

We have a patch wich modify the network part of the audio and video streams when behind a NAT. As this is the case here (after a quick look), this patch might solve the issue. Would you be kind enough to test it?

Get Ekiga 3.2.6 for Karmic with this patch here (same code as Ekiga 3.2.6 with just the patch which is a small one):

Best regards,
Yannick

Dear Yannick,
when I start EKIGA and try the Echo test or the Conference Room I cannot here anything at all, however I can see that the capture tab is moving when I am speaking at the mic.

Here is the file Output.txt, if you can give me an advice

The solution is to open up the ports in the router 5000 to 35000. thank you Dave for the advice.
