Bug Description
I have gone to considerable difficulty getting ekiga to a point where it connects to the ekiga '500' address and I can successfully do the audio test where I can hear what I have said return through the earphones during the druid setup phase. My account is recognized as being registered, but it won't connect to another ekiga user. It is stuck in 'standby' mode and does nothing, other than immediately disconnect. Previously I could connect to another ekiga user via an IM connection, but had no audio, due to having a 'symmetric' router issue. Now all the settings seem to be right, ie the 'sip:<email address hidden>' connects, I have a registered account and I have what I believe is a correct static IP address (sorry not great at network stuff) going to a STUN server - I get no IM any longer, and still have no audio to another ekiga account - The problem seems to be no connection, but if all the settings are working as attested to by the setup wizard/druid, what is the issue? Does the setup wizard work correctly or is it in error? I am happy to supply logs and anything requested.
The computer has a gigabyte ma770-ds3 motherboard, 4800+ amd dual core cpu, 2gb of 800mhz ram, nvidia 8600 gpu. Headphones are logitech and plug straight into the sound card.
Thank you.

Hello Yannick,
I cannot answer your question as I have not tried ekiga again, mainly because I [eventually] tracked down the likely cause of ekiga not working to a hardware issue with the modem/router from my isp, which I have been unable to port forward ??? locked by isp ??? Sorry I can't help.
Ian.

Now I see the same behavior with version 3.2.7
On both FreeBSD and Ubuntu ekiga gets into standby mode and I can't make calls.
My suggestion: it should elaborate on this status, explain why standby is activated.

Please use ekiga 4.0.0, it fixes such issues.

Hi,
Thank you for reporting.
Does this still happen with Ubuntu 9.04?
If you still have this issue can you please attach a debug output as explained here: wiki.ekiga. org/index. php/Debugging_ Ekiga#How_ to_get_ a_debug_ output

Best regards,
Yannick
