use a combobox instead of tabs

Binary package hint: ekiga

I'm using ekiga 3.0.1 on Jaunty.

The new interface is great, but the left pane shows only one of the three possible tabs (contacts, keyboard, call history). Since one of the main point of using tabs is seeing them all, wouldn't using a combobox instead be a more elegant solution? At least you could reach the desired view with just one click, as opposed to the two it requires now.

Not easily. First you have to make the whole window wider, and only then can you resize the left pane. What's more, if video is being displayed ekiga does NOT let you resize the window or any of its elements (e.g. the left pane).
