Bug Description
Binary package hint: ekiga
Ubuntu 8.04
Ekiga 2.0.12-0ubuntu2
Evolution 2.22.3.1-0ubuntu1
What happens:
* I want to make a call with Ekiga, so I open its Phone Book, find my contact and try.
* This fails so I right click and select 'Properties' - Oops no SIP number.
* Ekiga can't help me more because of bug #250858 "Re: Ekiga doesn't show me the (normal) phone numbers I have stored in Evolution"
* So I open Evolution's Contacts and magically know that 'VoIP URL' in Ekiga is the same as 'Video Chat' in evolution (anyone know if that consistency bug has been reported?) so I add the correct number there.
* I go back to Ekiga and reopen the Phone Book, find this person, and - huh? - still no VoIP URL number, luckily I know it's not because I did something wrong.
What should happen:
* They should automatically synchronize
or
* Ekiga should notice when Evolution's Contacts has been opened and offer to synchronize
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Could you try to reproduce the same with Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04? Thanks in advance.
