Bug Description

1. Run Ekiga's configuration wizard.
2. Click on Detect NAT Type in Step 5.

With Visual Effects enabled, the dialog box with the results is unresizable and too small to read the results it produces.
With Visual Effects disabled, the dialog box is as it should be.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at [WWW] https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. I have classified this bug as a bug in compiz

I confirm this behaviour in up-to-date gutsy.

confirmed in a fresh install of 7.10. see my submission (dupe bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ekiga/+bug/160007)
can not reproduce without compiz running so +1 for compiz bug vs ekiga bug.

Hi,

Confirmed here too (and in an install party too...).

Workaround is described in the community wiki:

Changed in ekiga:
status: New → Confirmed

I can also confirm this, with a slight twist. The dialog was correctly sized on the first run of the wizard, but malformed on subsequent runs.

Changed in compiz:
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Confirmed

This bug still exists with 8.04.

Confirmed also for Intrepid.
------------------
ekiga:
  Installed: 2.0.12-0ubuntu5
  Candidate: 2.0.12-0ubuntu5
  Version table:
 *** 2.0.12-0ubuntu5 0
        500 http://se.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
-------------------
Also, the window doesn't respond when clicking X(close). The window has to be maximized, (by double-clicking titlebar) and then double-click again, and the window will adjust to its content (now it looks good).
This bug will cause confusion for anyone affected, even i got confused. This should be rated a little higher than "low" in my opinion.
Compiz is activated. Intel GM965/GL960 graphic card.
Screenshot attached.

Confirmed in Intrepid with:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV516 [Radeon X1300/X1550 Series]

Package: compiz
Version: 1:0.7.8-0ubuntu4.1

Package: ekiga
Version: 2.0.12-0ubuntu5

----

Double click in title bar and maximize then click OK as "temporally" solution.

I've tried to test this in 9.04 (Jaunty) but the Ekiga in Jaunty (3.2.0) does not seem to have this step in the wizard (Edit>Configuration Assistant). Can someone confirm if they are getting this in Jaunty?

Changed in ekiga (Ubuntu):
status: Confirmed → Incomplete
Robert Ancell (robert-ancell) wrote :

Closing as this feature is not present in Ubuntu 9.04 (Ekiga 3.2.0)

Changed in ekiga (Ubuntu):
status: Incomplete → Fix Released
Changed in compiz (Ubuntu):
status: Confirmed → Fix Released
