Bug Description
Binary package hint: ekiga
Hi,
In Gutsy, Ekiga (2.0.11) don't provide any more useful debug output. (no more SIP protocol in the output).
Step to reproduce:
Start Ekiga in a terminal like this:
$ ekiga -d 4
Normally, you should see all SIP protocol in the terminal. In Gutsy there is none of it. SIP protocol is a text based protocol.
This problem is *very* important for upstream, as this is the standard way to understand most of the problems reported by users. Without those informations, most of the time you can't understand problems reported.

Yannick

Hi,
A workaround to this is to install libopal-2.2-ptrace instead of libopal-2.2
$ sudo apt-get install libopal-2.2-ptrace
then
$ ekiga -d 4
This will produce a useful debug output with the SIP protocol.
Thus, I think OPAL and Ekiga should be repackaged.

Yannick
