Bug Description

Binary package hint: eglibc (Ubuntu)

apply updates libc-bin (Version 2.11.1-0ubuntu7.1),libc-dev-bin (Version2.11.1-0ubuntu7.1)
libc6 (Version2.11.1-0ubuntu7.1), libc6-dev (Version 2.11.1-0ubuntu7.1) libc6-i686 (Version 2.11.1-0ubuntu7.1)
All apply normally. Shutdown system. Restart system.
Ubuntu not restart and messages are:
mount : mounting /dev/disk/ by uuid/74abf916-7278-4e59-b1df-4f5bfd1116ec/on root failed: Invalid argument
mount : mounting /dev/on /root/dev failed no such file or directory
mount : mounting /sys/on /root/sys failed no such file or directory
mount : mounting /proc/on /root/proc failed no such file or directory
Target file system doesnt't have /sbin/init
No unit found Try passing init=bootarg.
Busy box V1.13.3 (ubuntu 1:1.13.3.1ubuntu 11) ash
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in command (initramfs) _
I close pc by electric off. I must restore system with clonezilla with a previous backup.
"74abf916-7278-4e59-b1df-4f5bfd1116ec" is the uuid of sda system mount on /

for # LP 589223
OK for this update.
I try to apply
updates libc-bin (Version 2.11.1-0ubuntu7.1),libc-dev-bin (Version2.11.1-0ubuntu7.1)
libc6 (Version2.11.1-0ubuntu7.1), libc6-dev (Version 2.11.1-0ubuntu7.1) libc6-i686 (Version 2.11.1-0ubuntu7.1)
It is the same the system do not restart.

sorry, I can't figure out the issue described in this report. please could you describe what the problem is, and which behaviour you expect?

    About Bug #589062
  I add three files log system:
     syslog_2010-08-06
     kern.log_2010-08-06
     messages_2010-08-06
  and two files who I try to explain bugs
     messages n° 1 on screen when starting
In this file n°1,sometimes this problem appear
(package libc-bin is not upgrade with Update manager)

     messages n° 2 on screen when starting
You can see in file n° 2 when I upgrade package libc-bin

Excuse me,it's difficult for me to speak and write english.

This is no more a supported version now
