This causes the installation to fail. Anybody knows a workaround, other than replacing the mirror name by ip address?
How to force anna-installer to install a previous version of the package?

we are seing the same issue here, net-booting into a preseed based auto install with a local mirror of the basic repo and then allowing security updates from the official server during install.

i've noticed that when i use only the host name of our local apt mirror the error appears, however when I use the full domain name including our local domain it works just fine..

the same is true if i open a console once the installer stopps and do a ping:

#ping install
--> segfault

#ping install.corp.localdomain
--> pong

regards
Pascal

I can reproduce this issue with the mini.iso from the release version of 14.04.

Could you please try again with the newer mini.iso from trusty-updates (available here:)

We fixed our netboot by updating to the newest netboot iso.

Please fix this bug in the mini.iso - we're using it to provision servers with foreman and had problems. It took us the better part of yesterday until we discovered that it wasn't our setup but a broken package.

Cudos to the other posters for pointing out the workaround with the FQDN :)

@born2chill:

It is fixed by using the mini.iso in trusty-updates. Please use the links in comment #10.

that new images can be found in TRUSTY-UPDATES instead TRUSTY.

So I just made following test:

1. Automatic install from TRUSTY with :
* initrd.gz
* linux
* pxelinux.0
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/trusty/main/installer-amd64/current/images/netboot/ubuntu-installer/amd64/
=> installation stops, because of not finding the mirror

1. Automatic install from TRUSTY-UPDATES with :
* initrd.gz
* linux
* pxelinux.0
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/trusty-updates/main/installer-amd64/current/images/netboot/ubuntu-installer/amd64/
=> installation OK :-)

@Marc Deslauriers (mdeslaur)
If you "trust(y)" on automatic install, you get quit nervous if this breaks.
So my requsts:
* Is it possible tu update images in .../dists/trusty/... ?
* If not, is there a possibility to put a message into .../dists/trusty/... ?

Thanks Reinhard
