Bug Description

The edubuntu jaunty addon release candidate is not self-contained; it includes ffmpeg which depends on libavcodec52, which is not located on the edubuntu iso image. (To be explicit, the dependency chain is edubuntu-desktop -> ubuntu-edu-{secondary,tertiary} -> kino -> ffmpeg -> libavcodec52

ubuntu/kubuntu DVDs and ubuntustudio are also affected by this.

There are three options:

- unseed kino; removes functionality from the ISOs that was present in previous releases
- upload kino, dropping the Recommends: to a Suggests; appears to be incorrect in the strict sense according to the definitions of these fields, given Debian bug #457988
- leave the images as-is, where ffmpeg is on the ISOs but will only be successfully installable if the network is available; violates the invariant that installing from ISO gives the same results as installing from network.

None of these options are great, but we have to pick one.

My personal preference is to unseed kino. With either option 1 or 2, people need the network to get a working application, and I'd rather have an installation of kino actually work, than to install "crippled" software by default which makes it nonobvious how to install the missing bits.

I concur with Martin; unseeding kino rather than neutering it seems like the best option at this spoint.
