Steps to reproduce the problem:
1) install editra using synaptic
2) launch editra and choose Tools | Plugin Manager from the menu bar
3) click Download and select the "Launch" plugin and install it
4) close editra and restart it
5) again, choose Tools | Plugin Manager, at this point editra shows the following error:

Also, I submitted a report to <email address hidden> and got the following reply:

This is a very old version of Editra. This bug has been fixed in more recent versions. It was caused by installing a plugin that is not compatible with the older version of Editra that is on your system.
