Bug Description
Binary package hint: eclipse
When starting eclipse, I get the following error:
wander@
searching for compatible vm...
testing /usr/lib/
testing /usr/lib/
testing /usr/lib/
The program 'Eclipse' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
(Details: serial 604 error_code 11 request_code 148 minor_code 5)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
I allso get a popup describing that the JVM existed abnormally.
I've allso tried this with the stock eclipse downloaded from www.eclipse.org and I get the same error, so it might not be an error with eclipse itself.
I just want to add: This morning eclipse worked OK so it's probably an error that is caused by an update. (Somewhere around 18-01-2008)
My colleague also has the same problem (but uses Gnome instead of KDE and has an older laptop than I do)
