Displaying list of available branches takes a long time

Bug Description
I have quite a few remotes and branches in them (18000 branches in 45 remotes).
When I list available branches in shell, it takes split of second.
However, if I want to create new tracked branch in eclipse UI it takes several minutes to display dialog with list of available branches.
This makes this feature unusable.
