Bug Description
E17 set the default app for a filetype each time you right-click a file and open it with a new program and change the default app for the given filetype in ~/.local/
The problem this creates is that you cannot edit manually the defaults.list and have this new lists used by E17. For example, when you use the right-click option to shred a .doc file in Quelitu Jazz, the next time you click on a .doc, it opens the shred dialog. This could be fixed in the shred script by adding a line to remove the shred entry from the defaults.list file...
But, while E17 adds the new default app to default.list, it does not use it to select the what application to use for a filetype. The only thing that will re-change the default is right-clicking a .doc and selecting a new app. This is not user-friendly and very problematic/
This appears to be a but E17 can only gain from using the .local list as other distros do. Leaving it like this will only create problems down the line.
Please fix. In the meantime, where does the new default app temporarily stored in E17 (where does is look for the changed default app?)
Thanks.
