Bug Description

Binary package hint: dvgrab

I use dvgrab for a long time now in the following manner:

dvgrab -format dv1 -autosplit -timestamp -size 0 $NAME-

to grab my dv-videos. This "should" result in a single file for every new recording (-autosplit and -size 0) and the time and date of the recording included (-timestamp) in the fiile name. Here is an example of some grabbed recordings from last year (dvgrab version 3.1 and older):

dvgrab-2007.08.20_20-30-31.avi (avi since -format dv1 is used)

OK, now with dvgrab version 3.2.2 (ubuntu jaunty) the result differs and looks like this:

dvgrab-2008.05.08_16-41-03

Yes - the file extensions are gone... please take a look at this.

BUT, this only happens in conjunction with the -timestamp parameter. Without the results look right (depending on the -format parameter the files get an .dv or .avi file extension)

Same for me.
One thing I don't understand, when using Kino to capture my video it does create an extension.
And Kino uses dvgrab to capture!?
