supposedly ubuntu kdump & ubuntu dracut do not work together. like at all.

kdump-tools heavily relies on initramfs-tools and needs porting or replaced by something else to support dracut.

The upstream squash dracut module (and dependencies) are meant to assist kdump. This should be already packaged for Ubuntu.
