Bug Description

Binary package hint: dpkg

Just started with Ubuntu today so bear with me.

Using an Acer Aspire One ZG5. I installed Linux4one/ubuntu 10.04.1 several weeks ago but was offline until today.
I was notified of a new build and downloaded it (Lucid Lynx I think it was).

I received several notifications that certain files/components failed to download/install but the download continued. After install, I noticed that several screensavers would not work, the background remained solid despite being changed, several icons were gone etc. I restarted and suddenly I couldn't input my password. Restarted again successfully but now instead of being able to switch between 2 desktops, I have 4?

Did I just get a bad download or is the new build problematic?
