Bug Description

Binary package hint: ffmpeg

I discovered the problem after installing Imageshack Uploader 2.2.0 (http://imageshack.us/content.php?page=uploader&platform=linux). When starting the application, it argued; "error while loading shared libraries: libavcodec.so.52: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory". So then I do a reinstall of libavcodec52 which crashes when trying to install, and now I've got this message from "dpkg --configure -a"; "dpkg: tolkningsfel, i filen "/var/lib/dpkg/updates/0001" nära rad 0:
nyradstecken i fältnamn "#padding" (a somewhat of translation: 'dpkg; interpretation error in file "/var/lib/dpkg/updates/0001" near line 0: newline character in field name "#padding').

This sounds to me that either your system got somehow corrupted or you've encountered a bug in dpkg. I'm therefore reassigning to dpkg so that an dpkg expert can have a look.

Besides, unfortunately we don't have the ressources to support packages that you've retrieved from non-ubuntu repositories.

affects: ffmpeg (Ubuntu) → dpkg (Ubuntu)
